Understanding Comics By Scott McCloud

As a kid growing up I never understood the process to creating a comic book. I always thought that the story and characters were all done at once and that the writer and illustrator just winged it and took a day to make a comic book. Alas as the years came and went I started to understand about the time, process and designs that makes a good comic book. The book Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud put the details of comics and its process in a better perspective than what I have known. The way that it describes on art style from a cartoon to a realistic style in order give the story a look is fascinating.

I find it interesting that the book explains on how comics is more than a story book but also it is an art form as well. I love how it explains how the word balloons flow together in one motion. Through all the process, art and line stroke styles Understanding Comics brings out all the technicalities and secrets of making a comic book.
